What you will need for your notary visit

A valid identification that is current or has been issued within years from notary request.

The required ID must have all of the following:

  • Photo

  • Description of you

  • Your signature

  • Serial number

  • Issued date

  • Expiration date

Common types of IDs accepted:

  • California State Driver’s License (driver’s license issued by another state of by a Canadian or Mexican public agency authorized to issue driver’s licenses)

  • State Issued identification card

  • United States passport

  • A current US military card that contains all the required elements listed above

  • State employee identification issued by the state, city, county of California ID issued by a federally recognized tribal government
